Contribution of E.J. Hobsbawm to the Study of Labour
Dr. T.G. Parsons, of the School of History, Philosophy and Politics at Macquarie University, is planning a seminar for early 1984 on the contribution of Eric Hobsbawm to the study of labour history. Eric has recently retired from Birkbeck College, University of London, but his writing and teaching continues unabated. The planned seminar would be an excellent opportunity for his Australian friends and colleagues to show their appreciation of his scholarship, friendship and example. Those interested in attending the seminar, or in giving a paper, should contact Dr. Parsons as soon as possible.
