Speaking on the topic of “The Legacies of British Slavery and Labour History” will be Dr Jeremy Martens and Professor Jane Lydon, both from the University of Western Australia.
Jeremy is the author of Empire and Asian Migration: Sovereignty, Immigration Restriction and Protest in the British Settler Colonies, 1888–1907 (UWAP 2018).
Jane’s most recent book is No Slavery in a Free Land? Anti-Slavery and Australia, 1780–1900 (Routledge 2021).
