Members and friends are warmly invited to lunch at Il Gambero, 166 Lygon Street, Carlton(near Pelham Street, opposite Argyle Square gardens). 
$30 $40 solidarity.

Nibbles to start followed by a limited choice menu and tea or coffee. 
Drinks, not included, available at the bar.

Everyone is welcome, only financial members can vote. Nominations for the Branch Committee will be called for at the meeting. Join Labour History Melbourne prior to or at the meeting for the modest sum of $15 for individuals  https://labourhistorymelbourne.org/about/

2:30pm – 3:30pm Address by Boris Frankel, followed by Q & A 

We are delighted to host a discussion on Australia during the Cold War, with Professor Boris Frankel speaking to his recent family memoir No Country For Idealists (2023) – a remarkable account of his family’s migration from Melbourne to the Soviet Union in 1956, their return to Melbourne in 1960 and their many experiences with Australia’s security agencies.   Introducing Professor Frankel’s address and moderating the Q&A will be the ASSLH’s own Professor Phillip Deery –author of Spies and Sparrows: ASIO and the Cold War (2022). open the meeting for questions and general discussion after . Please RSVP here.
